I started my animal driven career back in 2006 when I moved to Toronto for college and needed a part time job. I got a position at a large pet store working as a kennel assistant and cashier. Once I realized that this was an employment path that I wanted to continue on I accepted a grooming trainee position at a different pet retail store chain. In my starting role as an assistant to the senior groomers in the salon, I received training in animal care, time management, and safe grooming practices.  In early 2007 I went to their grooming school and underwent 4 weeks of detailed training and education.

Since 2007, I have groomed 1000’s of dogs and have perfected my skills while also learning valuable lessons from other highly trained pet groomers.

My desire to learn more didn’t stop there. I have completed college education programs in both veterinary assistant and veterinary office administration. At various times in my career I wanted to explore other positions with my education background, so I have worked at vet clinics as a vet assistant and office receptionist while always continuing my full-time grooming job. I decided to challenge myself after having groomed for many years and accepted a position as a grooming salon manager to a staff of 10 groomers at a large pet retail store. This offered me a positive change and opportunity to push myself mentally, while also teaching me many valuable things that I continue to use today.

All of life’s different roads have brought me to here. I decided to open my own grooming shop in February 2021…Huron County Dog Grooming!
